Taylors Estate Merlot 2016
Deep black red. The bouquet offers up concentrated dark brambly fruits, hints of tar and the fragrance of roses drying in a vase. Dry tannins and cigar box savouriness underpins the juicy bramble fruit flavours and while a little brooding at first it opens up to strut its Aussie heritage with its overt fruit, vanillin oak, touches of chocolate and hints of mint emerging on the spicy, dry cedary finish. Easy to drink now but a great price to put a few bottles away and reap the rewards later.
