Elephant Hill Syrah 2019

Inky red black, it has oodles of pepper on the nose – a definite clue to the variety – with boysenberries and last night's barbecue cinders adding a subtle smoky intrigue. Firm, tight and structured in the palate, it is meaty and savoury with dark berry fruit and a desirable 'rose pepper' character. Rhone like in many respects and while very dry to start, the finish expands beautifully and the lingering aftertaste is generous and long.
