Wolf Blass Black Label Cab Shiraz 2006
Holding its colour very well, it's a very deep, dark red hue with no indication of bricking. A little restrained on the nose as the once primary fruit has let the bottle aged characters take command - but still could be coaxed out with decanting when tasting at home. A firm tasting wine, it’s seductively spicy with a voluptuously velvety flow and a delicious vinous sweetness that has evolved to balance the deep set savoury notes. Fleshy plum and mulberry fruit is still reasonably primary and bright and there's a deep smoky flourish to the finish. A very serious wine from a fabulous vintage, it is made from a blend of 51% Cabernet, 40% Shiraz and 9% Malbec from a number of regions in South Australia and still has many many years to go.
