Peregrine Central Otago Pinot Noir 2016
Ruby garnet hue. The bouquet is cherry with a waft of oak and the most subtle hint of anise. Initially spicy, woody and savoury to the taste with a little stalky quiver that together with the upfront furry tannins and lifted acidity make it seem quite tight and youthful. Yet there is an elegance to the flow and the lingering aftertaste brims with dark cherries and spice and vinosity. This blend from the Bendigo and Pisa subregions presents as more savoury than fruity at this stage of its life.
