Giesen The August 1888 Sauvignon Blanc 2018

This is brightly aromatic with passionfruit honey, roasted citrus peel, wild yeast and oak barrel notes. It’s a full-bodied, mouthcoating wine and and while it initially tastes a little oily and ‘funky’ from the wild yeast fermentation, the sweetness of the tropical fruit melds into the savoury backbone with grapefruit zest zinging through the incredibly long and pungent finish.
