Bald Hills Pinot Noir 2014
Gold Medal - NZIWS 2017
It's a rich dark ruby in the glass, not really hinting of its age. The bouquet is fragrant with a deep almost floral allure – then smoky oak and mulled wine spices become noticeable too. Not overtly fruity to the taste at first and surprisingly still quite firm in the front palate but velvety as it flows with a sensuous meaty savouriness, lifted spices and creamy opulence to the juicy plum and cherry finish. A wine of lingering succulence and harmony. Bannockburn fruit. Gold NZIWS.
